Dear Shirley
You have to go back to the pension department and liaise with then to
follow their process for local government appeal. There is a booklet on
this.
You cannot liaise with the independant physician as then he will no
longer be independant, and for further appeals you will not be able to
use his again in this case.

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] IHR Appeal process
Good Morning list,
Would appreciate your thoughts on a request made to me today by HR.
An employee yesterday (folowing a capability hearing) was given six
weeks notice. He had applied for IHR but was refused; union rep advised
that he should appeal this decision. I have been asked to release his
notes for him to pursue the appeal himself.... is this the right way to
go about it?
Or should the employer liaise with the Independant Physician ...
Many thanks in advance for your help,
Kind regards,
Shirley Jones
