Research Fellow in Music - Jazz Studies (Fixed term)

An opportunity exists for a researcher to join the AHRC-funded project,
'The Use of Audiovisual Resources in Jazz Historiography and
Scholarship: Performance, Embodiment and Mediatised Representations'
(Beyond Text, Small Grant), on a full-time, fixed-term basis.
The project explores the use of audiovisual resources in jazz
historiography and scholarship on the basis of the John Altman
collection of, primarily, jazz television broadcasts on videotape. More

We now seek a suitably qualified person to conduct intensive research on
the John Altman collection, to collaborate with the Principal
Investigator and the Co-Investigators in the administration of the
project, and to liaise with the project partner, John Altman, and third
parties about access to the resources in the collection.
You will have experience in jazz research, be organised, be able to work
to deadlines, and have excellent communication and team-working skills.
Experience in archival research, research involving audiovisual
resources, databases and/or A/V technology is desirable.
