We are looking to employ a post-doc (read Experienced Researcher, ER, i.e. an individual with a recent PhD)
working on theoretical astrochemistry as part of the EU FP7-PEOPLE-ITN project LASSIE.
The complete add is given below.
Kind regards,
Gunnar Nyman
University of Gothenburg, Faculty of Science announces:
Postdoctoral position in Theoretical Astrochemistry,
at the Department of Chemistry
A postdoctoral position is available in the chemical dynamics group at the Univer-
sity of Gothenburg, Sweden.
The research project involves theoretical investigation of chemical processes
which are ultimately important for the understanding of star and galaxy formation.
Particular focus will be on simulating UV absorption in model interstellar ices and
to study the dynamics of photodissociation processes within these ices.
We seek an individual with a recent PhD in theoretical
physics, theoretical chemistry, physical chemistry or chemical physics and with an
interest in implementing and using the tools of chemical dynamics on computers.
Ideally the applicant has experience of classical and/or quantum dynamics and/or
electronic structure calculations as well as programming.
The position is funded by a European Initial Training Network LASSIE in
which the Gothenburg group is one of around fifteen partners.
The postdoc position is initially for 12 months (full-time) with the possibility for
prolongation.
