Early-career researchers are invited to attend the workshop 'Anatomical Bodies: Plastinated Prosections in Medical Education' at the University of Warwick, April 13th -14th 2010.
This workshop is part of series funded by the ESRC entitled: 'Biomedical Visualisations and Society'. The focus is on the social and political dimensions of medical visualisations. The Anatomical Bodies workshop will combine a lecture from Dr. Maryon McDonald (University of Cambridge), an introduction to plastinated specimens and anatomy with Professor Peter Abrahams, Warwick Medical School, and time for peer discussion. Attendance is free but places are limited. Funding is also available for travel and accommodation costs for researchers who have no alternative funding source.
