An ESRC PhD studentship on new media/elections will start at the Institute
for Social Change -
University of Manchester later this year.

It's tenable from Sept 2010 and open to UK and EU nationals. The focus
is on proposals that seek to conduct research in new media
technologies on citizen participation and election campaigning.
Proposals that are comparative in nature and that will examine how
political and social context shapes and mediates the effects of
developments in communication technology upon society, are
particularly welcome.
