Open Access and the Changing Role of Libraries

to IFLA delegates in case of overbooking.
Open Access has a profound effect on the role of academic libraries.
This is the theme of an IFLA Satellite Meeting in Gothenburg on August
9. Among the speakers are Ellen Tise, IFLA president, Norbert Lossau,
Iryna Kychma, Tom Cochrane, Saskia Franken, Jens Vigen and several
others. The meeting covers library cooperation in supporting Open Access
on the national and international level, Open Access and new roles for
research libraries, Open Access and metadata, catalogues and software.
The speakers come from Europe, Canada, Australia and Japan. The meeting
is organized by the National Library of Sweden in cooperation with the
libraries of the universities of Gothenburg, Uppsala, Lund and Malmö and
is sponsored by the IFLA Information Technology Section. Now you can
