The Second European Articulate Conference – call for contributions
1. What?
2. When and where?
3. Why?
4. What can you do?
Dear colleagues,
Apologies for cross-posting.
The call for contributions is now open for the second European conference dedicated to one of the best e-learning packages out there: Articulate Studio 09. The theme of this conference is The Importance of Course Design. Join us in Leeds on the 17th of May and you will have the opportunity to meet and interact with like-minded professionals, as well as WIN an Articulate Studio 09 Pro license (RRP: $1,398).
1. What? Articulate Studio 09 is a superb user-friendly, powerful and flexible suite of tools which you can use to create engaging multimedia content. It integrates with MS PowerPoint and allows you to incorporate voice, video, Flash interactions and versatile quizzes into visually appealing packages to be delivered online, within VLEs or on CD-ROMs.
2. When and where? 17 May, 2010, 10am – 4.30pm, at the University of Leeds, UK. A hot and cold buffet lunch and refreshments will be provided.
3. Why? There are many academics and e-learning practitioners in Europe using Articulate Studio and getting great feedback from their audiences. This event will provide an opportunity to explore how sound course design can make a huge difference when building e-learning courses. We will have lots of before/after examples, tips and tricks, the Articulate Helpdesk, and guidance on publishing and tracking Articulate resources. You will experience the full functionality of Articulate, discuss best practice, learn from other users and talk to the developers. The event will attract a mixture of academics, learning technologists, and also expert friends from Articulate. Join us for a fun and useful day and the opportunity to WIN an Articulate Studio 09 Pro license.
4. What can you do?
-- 1. Submit any question you have about anything Articulate on the relevant forum in our NING community (http://articulateleeds.ning.com). Articulate expert Dave Moxon will pick several questions submitted by the 3rd of May for the live Helpdesk session to answer and illustrate in sufficient detail, while the other questions will receive an online response.
-- 2. Take the Articulate Challenge (12 April onwards): once again, our NING community (http://articulateleeds.ning.com) will have a separate conference forum dedicated to sharing ideas about – and most importantly examples of - turning uninteresting PowerPoint presentations into exciting e-learning. Several contributors submitting their examples by the 3rd of May will be invited to talk to colleagues about how they did it.
-- 3. Come prepared to make an active contribution to the day, take part in our activities, experiment, discuss and choose ways to improve online content. We are looking for approximately 10 participants to take 5 minutes each to share with the group how they have been using sound course design to create engaging Articulate Studio resources (please let Dragos Ciobanu [log in to unmask] know by 3rd May).
-- 4. Share your work with the community (use our NING area http://articulateleeds.ning.com or please send links to your work to Dragos Ciobanu [log in to unmask] by 5 May to showcase at www.leeds.ac.uk/articulate/conference2010). 10 laptops will be available on the day to share and discuss examples of good practice.
The cost of the conference is £50. The Conference Programme will be published on the 12th of April. The registration will also be open on the 12th of April. Because of the interactive nature of the conference, places will be limited to 60.
Best wishes,
Dragos
