The National Conservation Service is delighted to announce that The
Royal Institution of Great Britain (RI) is supporting the Service by
facilitating a state-of-the-art conservation studio and office space in
Albemarle Street, London. Based in RI’s Grade 1 listed headquarters in
Mayfair, NCS will be able to undertake regional conservation projects
and hold meetings and events. Following the completion of RI’s
£22million refurbishment, which involved a range of conservation
projects, the historic collection is now on display over three floors
and open to the public for free. NCS is joining the RI science and
heritage community at an exciting moment in its history.

Chris Woods, Director of NCS, said:
“The involvement of the Royal Institution in helping us to deliver this new service is very exciting. The RI will be our headquarters and a great location for NCS members to come and discuss conservation issues that they share. At a time when membership is steadily growing in regions across England and Wales, and with excellent facilities in Lincolnshire and Wiltshire, it also good to have such a well equipped studio in Central London for the many archives and libraries in the city.”
