RESEARCH ASSOCIATE in EPIDEMIOLOGY
KEELE UNIVERSITY, FACULTY OF HEALTH
INSTITUTE FOR PRIMARY CARE AND HEALTH SCIENCES
ARTHRITIS RESEARCH CAMPAIGN NATIONAL PRIMARY CARE CENTRE
3-YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT
Grade 7 (Starting salary £28,853)
The Arthritis Research Campaign National Primary Care Centre has a large
and dynamic research programme in Pain and Osteoarthritis, underpinned
by a wealth of cohort and trial data-sets, with linkage to medical
records, available for analysis. You will work as part of a
multi-disciplinary team consisting of epidemiologists, biostatisticians
and clinicians to provide high quality methodological support to an
established epidemiology research group.
As well as contributing to epidemiology ‘think-tank’ sessions, you will
also be working on the PROG-RES dataset, a large cohort of general
practice consulters with linked clinical data. We are looking to appoint
a postdoctoral researcher with strong quantitative data analysis skills
to fully exploit existing data collections held by the Centre to
generate novel and strategically important research findings. Prior
experience of quantitative health research and a PhD in statistics,
epidemiology or a similar subject are essential, as are excellent
interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to work with
multi-disciplinary teams.
