We are currently looking for a Junior Statistician / Programmer to join our Data Analysis team and provide statistical support across a variety of market research projects. We help clients make very important decisions about major food, drink and healthcare brands by analysing the results of surveys we run.
The role is extremely varied, interesting and challenging, utilising a wide range of statistical and mathematical tools ranging from the basics (t-test and chi-squared) through to linear and non linear modeling, multivariate techniques and analysis of variance. There are also a lot of opportunities to program new techniques in SAS, Visual Basic etc so if you can demonstrate strong programming skills in any programming language that will be extremely beneficial.
You will work as part of a strong team and be involved from project inception (possibly contributing ideas to research design and how the data is collected) right through to analysing the results and offering insight from a statistical perspective on the trends observed in the data.
Comprehensive training is offered to provide a solid induction into the market research process, and in the use and application of our proprietary methods and analysis techniques. We offer a competitive salary £18k to £24k depending on knowledge, skill set and excellent benefits package, including pension scheme, private healthcare and modern, flexible working practices, as well as the opportunity for exciting career progression. Holiday allowance starts at 23 days and raises to 28 days with service.
Candidates will have either an MSc in Statistics/Biometry or a BSc which includes a minimum of 75% statistics (2:1 or above). You will have experience of a variety of statistical techniques, preferably including multivariate analysis, experimental design and statistical modelling. You will also be highly computer literate with skills in Excel and statistical software (ideally SAS). You will have good time management and communication skills, and be fluent in both written and spoken English.
