The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Bern is one of five medical faculties in Switzerland. The Faculty's Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine (ISPM) provides under-graduate and post-graduate education and carries out research in a range of disciplines relevant to Patient Care and Public Health. ISPM offers a lively, interdisciplinary environment with excellent computing and library facilities.
We are looking for a
Statistician / epidemiologist (80-100%)
You will work closely with other statisticians, epidemiologists, researchers and clinicians at ISPM, the affiliated Clinical Trials Unit (CTU Bern) and the University Hospital. The research focus for this position is health of the elderly, with an emphasis on health services and clinical research.
Your tasks will include management and analysis of observational data and clinical trials. You will also contribute to the planning of studies, and the conduct and analysis of systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
Applicants are expected to have a Master or PhD degree in statistics, biostatistics, or epidemiology, and experience in the analysis of data from epidemiological or clinical studies, using Stata, R, or SAS.
