Course Summary
This course focuses on developing the participant's understanding of statistics and how to interpret and evaluate research findings. The course is composed of a combination of lectures and practicals. The participants will gain a real insight into how to understand and evaluate statistical findings from social research. It covers key concepts such as: the mean, variation, deviation, standard errors, association, significance testing, confidence intervals, the theory behind statistical modelling and the issue of causality.
