Dear all (with usual apologies for any cross-postings) - please pass
this on to anyone you think may be interested.
The Statistics Division within the School of Mathematics at the
University of St Andrews is seeking good candidates to study for PhDs in
Statistics.
The Statistics Division is largely housed in the Centre for Research
into Ecological and Environmental Modelling
(www.creem2.st-andrews.ac.uk) in the picturesque St Andrews Observatory
building. It has particular research strengths in Statistical Ecology,
and it is one of the founding members of the National Centre for
Statistical Ecology (http://www.ncse.org.uk/). The division has strong
research links with the School of Biology, the Sea Mammal Research Unit,
the Fisheries Research Services (MarineScotland), and the newly formed
Scottish Oceans Institute (SOI). Good candidates with interests aligned
with our research directions are particularly welcome.
The annual stipends will be up to £16290 (tax-free) + fees (home
students). Applications can be made via the online system on the
University webpages. Inquiries can be made to C Donovan at
