Our clinical trials unit (CTU) offers an opportunity for a talented
statistician to develop their skills and career in clinical trials.
Ideally we will appoint a statistician with experience of clinical
trials at grade 7 and support them in the development of their career -
however, less experienced candidates are also encouraged to apply, as we
can appoint at grade 6 and provide extra mentoring if no suitable grade
7 candidates are found.
The Primary Care CTU is based in the academic Department of Primary
Health Care at the University of Oxford and undertakes clinical trials
addressing health issues of major national and international importance.

University of Oxford’s most successful departments in the recent
Research Assessment Exercise. The Clinical Trials Unit is an expanding
part of this prestigious department and requires increasing statistical
support for its randomized clinical trials.
The post is offered full time for two years in the first instance. A
postgraduate degree (or equivalent relevant experience) is required,
along with the ability to carry out and write up statistical analyses,
and experience of the analysis of data arising from medical studies.
The candidate must have experience with statistical software, good
communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
