JOB OPENING
The National Institute for the Study of Ageing and Later Life (NISAL) at Linköping University, Sweden invites applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position as Professor in Ageing and Later Life. The holder of the appointment shall conduct research about older people's ageing and life course, with special focus on questions concerning welfare and the various actors, forms and contexts of care.
The successful candidate has a documented scientific excellence in social scientific research on older people's lives and the meaning of ageing. Evidence of pedagogical skills, a broad and solid knowledge in the subject of appointment, as well as knowledge of a wide variety of research methods, especially qualitative methods, is also to be demonstrated.
Although the primary responsibility of the faculty will be to conduct research, the holder of the appointment as Professor shall also participate in teaching, supervision of doctorate students and leading research projects. Assessment of scientific and pedagogic proficiency is thus given equal attention.
The professorship is located at NISAL, where about 20 researchers and doctorate students from multidisciplinary backgrounds are employed. The Institute is located in the city of Norrköping. More about research at NISAL can be found at: http://www.isv.liu.se/nisal/forskning?l=en.
