** Apologies for cross-posting **ECSR/TransEurope/QMSS II ConferenceAnalysing Education, Family, Work and Welfare in Modern Societies: Methodological Approaches and Empirical EvidenceSeptember 30-October 2nd 2010, Bamberg, Germany The European Consortium for Sociological Research (ECSR) and the European Science Foundation (ESF) Social Science Networking Programmes "TransEurope - Transnationalisation and Changing Life Course Inequalities" and "Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences (QMSS) 2" will join forces to organise a three-day conference to be held in the UNESCO World Heritage City of Bamberg, Germany.The conference, entitled "Analysing Education, Family, Work and Welfare in Modern Societies: Methodological Approaches and Empirical Evidence" aims to bring together researchers in the area of internationally comparative research on socio-economic change from all across Europe and beyond to present and discuss their recent methodological approaches and empirical findings.The conference is divided into 4 topical streams:STREAM 1 Concepts and Methods of Cross-National ResearchSTREAM 2 Modeling Trends, Determinants and Consequences of Educational Inequality in Modern SocietiesSTREAM 3 Changes in Employment, Unpaid Work and Family in Contemporary SocietiesSTREAM 4 Demographic Changes and the Welfare StateDeadline for a submission of paper abstracts no longer than 200 words is 31st March, 2010.
