hi Cody,
I asked about the magic of the Tian Gong.

do they refer to any of these things as magic?
perhaps all of these are qualifiers for you?
I conceive of an analytical method based on Nettl here,
in which one successively identifies their magic content
from an unbiased, and academic posture, vis a vis the
science of anthropology, reflected from ethnomusicology.
I will attempt to construct a template here for you, and
then plan to issue it as an inquiry whenever i post to
these religious threads wherein some magic may lie:
* do the people in question use a term which
would, etymologically, translate as 'magic'
to describe anything that they do? if so,
what is that term? what are they doing that
*they* call 'magic' and how would you
describe it differently than they do?
* do the people in question do things which
they do not describe as 'magic' but which
you, in your own culture, would identify
as such? if so, what are those things and
how do they describe or explain them?
I hope you see that their ideology, social politics,
scandals, or economics are fairly unimportant to me.

I may check out their website, thanks for the link.
I'm in the middle of more bibliographic work since
finding the bibme.org site, which i still recommend.
I wonder if there are Macintosh programs doing this.
