A postdoctoral position studying the dynamics of photochromic molecular systems is
available in the group of Prof. Chris Elles at the University of Kansas.
The project uses ultrafast spectroscopy to probe the excited state dynamics of molecules
in solution. Specifically, we will examine and control the dynamics of pericyclic ring-
opening and ring-closing reactions using novel excitation schemes. This position also
includes an opportunity to participate in time-resolved X-ray absorption experiments at
synchrotron facilities.
Applicants must have previous experience with ultrafast lasers and a Ph.D. in physical
chemistry or a related field by the time of the appointment. The position is available in
July, but starting date is negotiable.
Qualified individuals are encouraged to submit a detailed CV, contact information for 3
references, and a statement of research interests to [log in to unmask]
Informal inquiries are welcome.
