following on from Nicks' comment, yes, there are many points on the scale-
I once spent a not too pleasant hour talking to an 'hereditary witch who
considered himself far more evolved (by simple genetics) than 'mere wiccans'
and it transpired that his grasp of what hereditary witch meant was merely
that a grandmother had been a bit of a tea leaf reader between the two world
wars
