NAMHO (the National Association of Mining History Organisations) will
hold two further seminars as part of the consultation for their
project, a Research Framework for the Archaeology of the Extractive
Industries (Mining and Quarrying). The first was held in Gunnislake,
East Cornwall, on 20 February.
The second seminar will be at the Snibston Discovery Park in
Leicestershire on Saturday 10 April.
The third will be on Sunday 25 April at Carnforth Railway Station in
Lancashire.
The purpose of the seminars is to discuss the current state of
knowledge for mining and quarrying archaeology in England. There will
be three presentations on aspects of the archaeology over the course
of the day with ample time for discussion and contributions from the
