Applications are invited from non-EU/EEA students for a fully funded
3-year PhD studentship at the newly opened Centre for Integrative
Neuroscience & Neurodynamics, University of Reading, under the
supervision of Dr. Tom Johnstone. The project will entail using TMS
and/or FMRI to test models of cortical-subcortical connectivity in
cognition-emotion interaction. Students should have strong analytic
and technical skills as well as the equivalent of an MSc in a relevant
discipline. Proficiency with the English language is also required.
This studentship is one of three offered by the science faculties and
is highly competitive. Students should thus have obtained top marks in
their prior university studies and should be able to demonstrate
previous research experience in a related area. Applications will be
judged in a two-stage procedure; candidates making it through the
first stage will be requested to submit full academic transcripts and
references.
Applications should be made as soon as possible, with an absolute
deadline of February 20th 2010. Please email an application letter
explaining your research interests, being sure to address the criteria
above, as well as CV, to:
