Dear SNoMS colleagues,

I have been asked if I would forward a request for participation in the project
below; I am assured that filling it in really does only take 10 minutes!

With thanks,

Bryony

Dear Colleague,

On behalf of the Scottish Confederation of University Research Libraries

(SCURL), we would like to ask for your participation in the ERIS

project.

The ERIS Project (Enhancing Repository Infrastructure in Scotland) is a

collaboration of Scottish HE institutions looking to create a better

understanding of how academics and researchers engage with the

publications process, and in particular related to the deposit of open

access materials locals within your institution. Further details of the

project can be found at http://eriscotland.wordpress.com/about

The project aims to make recommendations to the Scottish HE community on

ways to motivate researchers to deposit in local repositories, and how

repository use can be embedded into the end to end research life cycle.

Through this survey, we are looking to gain knowledge of research

publication management from the researcher perspective.

What we would like you to do;

We would very much appreciate your help in getting valued feedback from

your research colleagues on their perceptions and use of institutional

repositories by asking them to complete a brief online survey (note: we

are not asking you to complete this survey yourself). We have asked

permission from your Library Director to contact you directly to do

this, and have chosen to do so in order to gain as much coverage as

possible from across all subject disciplines. We would of course like as

many replies to the survey as possible, but at a minimum would ask if we

could get at least one response from each of your represented subject

areas.

The survey will be open until the 19th February and should take 10

minutes to complete. Unless explicitly permitted by the respondent, all

replies are anonymous.

Please use the following URL to send to any colleagues that you would

like to complete the survey.

https://www.survey.ed.ac.uk/eriswp1/

Thank you in advance. Your help is very valuable to us. If you have any

questions about the survey, or would like some more information about

the project, then please contact us at [log in to unmask] or by

calling James Toon on 0131 651 3850.
