That really is good news. Thanks for that Fiona. Using the suggestions area sounds great.
Huzzah and triple huzzah all round.

Dear Paul, thankyou for your message and for your offer of feedback on our software. It's a great idea to set up a new thread and some of my colleagues in our business analysis area are already looking into this. They're the group that are best positioned to work with your feedback and to make sure it feeds into our development process. While we work on this, there are already quite a few areas where anyone can offer, review and discuss feedback or suggestions for NVivo, including the 'Suggestions' area on the QSR Forum at: http://forums.qsrinternational.com/ <http://forums.qsrinternational.com/>
Regarding our website, as promised, my colleagues have now revisited the claims made there about NVivo 9 and have made some adjustments today to reflect the discussions here.
Warm regards, Fiona

Sounds very promising Fiona. You have had to be the spokesperson and 'listen' to quite a lot of people on this mailing group, who have had a range of issues. Would it be worth setting up a new thread, where people who use the software daily or regularly could feedback to QSR what they would like to see included in the software. May be independent trainers could offer suggestions as well. I love the fact that your company really listens to its users. That way we have less work-arounds and a software fit for purpose. I know myself and other colleagues would be itching to offer useful suggestions.

the page above may need altering given the comments by other software providers yesterday, as it is a little naughty, given that one of the software packages that offers server capabilities and multi user use is cheaper than yours AND has been providing this since 2002/3....
One thing is important in all this. Debate. It is great to hear from other users of software, and also from manufacturers. This is what moves our research on. I am looking forward to the new spangly super stable version of 9. I just hope it will run on the computers I already have, rather than having to get another super fast machine.
Regards and light

I'm anxious to respond to the discussions taking place around NVivo - and again - please let me declare that I work for QSR International, the developers of NVivo software. I have been speaking to my colleagues on the issues raised and firstly, I can confirm that we have already spent a significant amount of time improving the performance and stability of NVivo 8. We've been talking to a lot of existing users over the last 18 months and that is a message that we're hearing very clearly. Our early testing for NVivo 9 has already proved that there will be some real performance improvements in the software, and we still have a large amount of resources dedicated to continuing to improve performance in the months prior to the software's release. One of our main objectives for NVivo 9 is to produce more stable, better performing software.
Secondly, I have also really taken on board the comments that have been raised about Transana being a server based solution and QDA Miner importing data files. It was never my intention to deliberately mislead anyone, please be assured that if there are corrections that need to be made to our website, we'll make them quickly.
Warm regards, Fiona
