Call for Papers
Macroeconomics and Econometrics Conference
University of Birmingham
Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th May 2010
The Econometrics and Macroeconomics and Finance Research Groups of the
Department of Economics in Birmingham are pleased to announce a call for
papers for a two-day conference to be hosted by the Department of
Economics with generous financial support from the Money, Macro and Finance
Research Group.
Submissions will be considered in a broad range of themes, to cover all aspects
of monetary policy, finance, and macroeconometric modelling, defined broadly.
Both theoretical and empirical papers are encouraged. We would be particularly
interested in papers on fiscal policy and papers with a political economy
dimension.
The conference will run for two full days and a programme will be available in
due course. There will be a dinner on the evening on the 4th May. We have
some funds to reimburse speakers their travel costs. Please let us know when
submitting your paper if you need such support and also if you would like us to
arrange overnight accommodation for you for the night of 4th May.
The deadline for submission of papers is 22nd March and decisions will be made
by early April. Papers should be submitted in pdf format by e-mail to
[log in to unmask] and [log in to unmask] who may also be contacted
for further information.
If you would like to attend the conference without presenting a paper we
would be delighted to see you. However, if we are oversubscribed we do
reserve the right to say ‘no’, in which case places will be allocated on a first
come, first served basis. Please let Anindya Banerjee or John Fender know as
soon as possible and no later than 20th April if you would like to attend the
conference and, if so, whether you would like us to arrange overnight
accommodation (we cannot guarantee to do this for those who are not
presenting papers although we will do our best to be helpful).
