Obviously the end goal is to find the best result for visitors, but museums
and cultural heritage organisations are important stakeholders and should
have a chance to ask questions, raise concerns, suggest ideas, improve
processes...
I raised this now as Wikimedia@MW2010 in April offers a chance to work
through those issues but also as a way of taking stock of our experience of
the past decade and in the context of the coming years - can various
'commons' projects and encyclopedic sites help the museums that are closing
or reducing operations, and can they help museums fulfill their missions
when they have fewer resources, or is technology the last thing on people's
minds right now?
cheers, Mia
