Speaker: Malcolm Weston
The Second NetIKX meeting of 2010 will be held on Wednesday 17 March, at
2:00 for 2.30 pm, at The Intellectual Property Office, 21 Bloomsbury Street,
London WC1B 3HF, (nearest underground station Tottenham Court Road)
Information and Knowledge are key organisational assets. Many would argue
that the tangible records of an organisation’s work are the only assets that
really count. However, they are also very vulnerable: to physical damage, to
loss, to intellectual theft and so on.
This seminar will provide an overview of key principles, and some key
insights from URS, one of the world’s leading engineering and construction
services firms, on how they are addressing the issues involved. It will
explore how organisations might address the challenges in terms of IT,
policies and procedures, and legislation.
As is the standard practice for NetIKX seminars, delegates will have an
opportunity to explore the issues involved in more detail through syndicate
(or break-out) discussions.
