It should be noted that it is not just the design of the building, but also
the energy source that is relevant. By switching to a 100% renewable energy
provider (e.g. Good Energy in the UK http://www.goodenergy.co.uk/) a library
can make a huge step towards being greener without having to hire a single
architect/builder to design a refurbishment programme.
