Hi all,
We are installing a CREAM-CE by following the documentation available at
http://igrelease.forge.cnaf.infn.it/doku.php?id=doc:guides:devel:install-cream32
but we are running into the following problems which seem to be related to java
and tomcat:
we are using OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 1.6.0-b09, mixed mode) with the
following jakarta packages:
jakarta-commons-pool-1.3-5jpp.1.x86_64
jakarta-commons-beanutils-1.7.0-5jpp.1.x86_64
jakarta-commons-digester-1.7-5jpp.1.x86_64
jakarta-commons-logging-1.1-8.jpp5.noarch
jakarta-commons-el-1.0-7jpp.1.x86_64
jakarta-commons-fileupload-1.0-6jpp.1.x86_64
jakarta-commons-discovery-0.3-4jpp.1.x86_64
jakarta-commons-httpclient-3.0-7jpp.1.x86_64
jakarta-commons-daemon-1.0.1-6jpp.1.x86_64
jakarta-commons-launcher-0.9-6jpp.1.x86_64
jakarta-commons-modeler-1.1-8jpp.3.el5.x86_64
jakarta-commons-dbcp-1.2.1-7jpp.1.x86_64
jakarta-commons-collections-3.2-2jpp.3.x86_64
In /var/log/tomcat5/catalina.out we have:
log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger
(org.apache.commons.digester.Digester.sax).
log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.

# A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:
#
# Internal Error (synchronizer.cpp:1800), pid=12498, tid=1095924032
# Error: guarantee(obj->mark() == markOopDesc::encode(mid),"invariant")
#
# JRE version: 6.0_16-b01
# Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (14.2-b01 mixed mode linux-amd64 )
# An error report file with more information is saved as:
# /tmp/hs_err_pid12498.log
So we have made the following changes:
adding a /var/lib/tomcat5/common/classes/log4j.properties
defining the JRE_HOME variable in /etc/sysconfig/tomcat5:
JRE_HOME="/usr/lib/jvm/java/jre"
We have run the Checks available on
http://grid.pd.infn.it/cream/field.php?n=Main.HowToCheckAndTestYourCREAMCE
Checkconf.pl
everything is OK
but no answer on the 8443 port even though /opt/glite/var/log/glite-ce-cream.log
says that the port is found.
tomcat doesn't seems to bind to the port and crashes after a while
in /opt/glite/var/log/glite-ce-cream.log we don't get a CREAM started message
Any hints or tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Best regards,
