Hi,
If you just see a box in the 3D viewer change the threshold value.
I think you will find the tutorial parts of the FSL course very
helpful for getting to grips with basic commands and tools like
FSLView. I strongly encourage you to follow the links from the
main FSL page to the FSL Course and go through at least the
first practical (labelled "Introduction to Imaging, FSL & FreeSurfer").
