The Faculty of Social Sciences and Economics is opening a position as full or associate professor with a specialization in Political theory. The University of Geneva is looking for a scholar with an international reputation, a distinguished research record, international publications, and excellent teaching record.
Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. in Political Science or in a related field. The candidate must demonstrate his/her ability to offer excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels and to supervise M.A. and Ph.D. students. The successful candidate will undertake research, teaching, administrative tasks and other activities supporting the work of the Department of Political Science as well as developing and enhancing its reputation within and outside of the University.
If not currently fluent in French, the successful candidate is expected to be able to teach in French within a reasonable timeframe.
Salary: The salary is competitive and will depend on the candidate's qualifications and experience. A full professor can expect an annual salary starting from CHF 164'197 to 222'001, an associate professor can expect an annual salary starting from CHF 131'758 to 178'146 (all figures are based on the 2010 Geneva State salary scale).
