Dear Critters,
I have some students currently interested in looking critically at processes
of city marketing / branding / promotion. They are particularly keen to look
for alternatives to the standard models of city marketing (boring / generic /
repetitious / outward oriented / economic development driven / standard
repertoire of images and themes etc. etc.).
Does anyone know of any examples of cities that have been more original in
their approach to marketing / branding or any work that discusses
alternatives to the standard approaches?
Happy to compile a list of responses and share with the group.
Many thanks,
Tim Hall
