Dear all
ARLIS is pleased to announce a visit to The London Library, the world’s
largest independent lending library.
Located in St. James's Square, close to Piccadilly Circus and Green Park,
the library was founded in 1841 by Robert Carlyle.
The book collection ranges from the 16th Century with particular focus on
the Humanities, and the recently remodelled and extended Art Room houses a
substantial collection on the visual arts and architecture. The library
subscribes to over 850 serial publications, including academic journals and
the publications of a wide range of learned societies.
The visit will include a general tour of the library including the newly
refurbished Art Room and some of the special collections.
