The Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007, and the subsequent setting up of the Statutory UK Statistics Authority, have been important milestones in re-establishing public confidence in official statistics. The meeting will allow all three main UK political parties to present their views on how the process of improving trust in official statistics will be continued after the next general election.
