MEDICAL STATISTICS UNIT
Medical Statistician
The Medical Statistics Unit wishes to appoint a statistician, mainly to
work on the statistical analysis of results from major clinical trials
and epidemiological studies. Some of this research relates to
cardiovascular disease, but available projects also cover a wide range
of other medical topics.
In addition there will be the opportunity to collaborate in
methodological research and study design. Teaching of postgraduate
students would also be encouraged.
The successful applicant requires an aptitude for both applied and
methodological research, good communication skills and statistical
computing experience. An MSc in statistics or equivalent is essential
and past experience of clinical trials and/or epidemiological research
is desirable.
The appointment is available for 2 years with the possibility of
further extension. The salary will be on the School’s Research
Fellow/Lecturer scales, currently £35,370- £47,313 per annum.
