CALL FOR POSTER SUBMISSIONS
Operational Research Society 5th Simulation Workshop (SW10)
23-24 March 2010
Worcestershire, England
The 5th Simulation Workshop (SW10) will be running again this year a
full track poster session. Submissions of abstracts and short papers (up
to 3 pages) are invited. The deadline for submissions is 12 February
2010.
We are looking for posters on a variety of topics in simulation
modelling. If you have recently worked or are currently working in any
area of simulation modelling, including research, you can showcase your
work at SW10. You will not need to write a full paper, only a short
paper up to 3 pages long. The papers will be only edited, but not
reviewed. Nonetheless, they will be published in the conference
proceedings. During the conference you will have the opportunity to
display your poster and to receive feedback by leading simulation
experts from academia and industry. You can also benefit from attending
the keynote, panel discussions and session presentations and from the
networking opportunities offered in a friendly environment.
Submission should be made by 12 February 2010. This includes the
following:
œ Submit an abstract using the electronic submission form at
www.theorsociety.com
œ Send an electronic paper, up to 3 pages to Antuela Tako
([log in to unmask]).
Please follow the author guidelines provided for full conference
papers. Submission implies that one author(s) will attend the
conference.
If you have any questions, please contact Antuela Tako (Poster Chair)

Background information
The biennial Operational Research Society Simulation Workshop brings
together practitioners and academics working in the field of
discrete-event simulation and related fields. It provides an
opportunity to exchange ideas on the current and future state-of-the-art
in simulation and modelling. The programme consists of a key note
presentation, panel discussion and parallel streams. Breaks between
sessions and the conference dinner provide an excellent opportunity for
networking. The exhibition area includes some of the latest
developments in simulation software tools.
The conference will take place in the Abbey Hotel Golf and Country
Club, in Worcestershire, England on a lovely 175-acre estate that once
belonged to the now ruined local abbey. It provides an excellent
standard of accommodation and conference venue. There are also leisure
facilities and a championship standard Golf Course. The hotel is near to
Birmingham, which has excellent links through the International Airport
and railway services. London is only 1.5 hours away. Local attractions
include Stratford-upon-Avon (Shakespearefs birthplace) and Warwickfs
Medieval Castle.
