Shaamiel (and all other list-members)
Hi. Thanks for your interest and that of other list members. Just for information – I circulate e-mail alerts for various addiction journals (currently around 25 of them) to the EFTC list. I also circulate the same information to four other lists. However, the fact that I circulate these alerts doesn't neccessarily mean that I have full-text access to those journals. In this case, the University of Stirling has no direct contract of agreement with the Journal of Substance Use. I have however asked the University Library to furnish me with a copy via the Document Delivery Service. This will take a few days to arrive and I will then circulate it (once I have checked it for viruses etc.).
I can only do this for a limited number of articles but since there seemed to be general interest in this article, I felt this ought to be one of those occasions.
I'm wondering here if people on the list would find it useful to pool resources? It might be useful to have some sort of inventory of which journals each list member has access to. Just to start the ball rolling, I have access to the following journals:
Addiction
Addiction Biology
Addiction Messenger
Addiction Research
Addiction Research & Theory
Addiction Science & Clinical Practice
Addictive Behaviors
Advances in Dual Diagnosis
Alcohol
Alcohol & Alcoholism
Alcohol Research and Health
Alcoholism Treatment Quarterly
Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research
American Journal of Drug & Alcohol Abuse
American Journal on Addictions
Drug and Alcohol Dependence
Drug and Alcohol Findings
Drug and Alcohol Review
Drugs and Alcohol Today
Drugs: education, prevention & policy
Harm Reduction Journal
International Journal of Drug Policy
International Journal of Therapeutic Communities
Journal of Addictive Disorders
Journal of Alcohol and Drug Education
Journal of Alcoholism
Journal of Gambling Issues
Journal of Gambling Studies
Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs
Journal of Substance Abuse
Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment
Mental Health and Substance Use
Nicotine & Tobacco Research
Psychology of Addictive Behaviors
Substance Abuse: Research and Treatment
Substance Abuse Treatment, Prevention, and Policy
Substance Use & Misuse
The Social History of Alcohol and Drugs
I haven't checked these individually, but as far as I can tell, University of Stirling has full-text access to all of these journal - though access to some may be restricted (only from, or to, a certain date). As you will know, I'm usually pretty busy but if you are really struggling to get hold of an article and if it's on this list, I would be happy to help. Please write to me OFF-LIST though at: [log in to unmask]
If other list-members are willing to help in this way, it would be nice to hear from you. We have over 200 members on this list so between all of us, we ought to be able to gain access to all but the more obscure journals. I'm particularly interested to hear of any list member with access to the Journal of Groups in Addiction & Recovery.
Finally, just to remind you. I maintain a list of all (or nearly all) the English-language addiction journals in the Scottish Addiction Studies Online Library at:
http://www.drugslibrary.stir.ac.uk/journals.php
Again, just because they're listed, it doesn't mean you'll get full access, but you should be able to see the abstracts of any articles.
