I apologize for going quiet over the holiday break with regards to the
upcoming hawaiki release. I've been quiet because it's all been going
fairly well. Here's the situation:
We're aiming for release on five platforms: 64-bit Linux, 32-bit
Linux, OS X PPC, 32-bit OS X Intel, and 64-bit OS X Intel. 64-bit OS X
Intel hasn't been started yet because Tim only reminded me of it this
morning.
I need to build starjava for the Linux platforms. I need to build
starperl for the OS X platforms. Other than that we're pretty much
good to go. Both of these are mostly "push the button and walk away"
installs, so I will be done at the end of the day, after which I will
tar them up, email this mailing list, and have a week of testing.
I would like to aim for a release date of January 19 (I would have
liked the 18th but it's a holiday here). My last day of employment at
JAC is January 22, so keep that date in mind as well.
I've been building off master as I assume that all of the recent
updates we want in hawaiki. I would like to make a hawaiki branch on
Jan 11 and then only accept urgent bugfixes and documentation updates
after that point.
Cheers,
Brad.
