Free Postgraduate Workshop on Statistics!
PsyPAG are hosting a free workshop on statistics supported by PGwT and the University of Strathclyde Roberts Innovation Fund.
10 am Monday 18th January 2010
University of Strathclyde, Glasgow
This workshop is open to all postgraduate psychology students who would like to learn more about statistical methodology. Speakers will include Prof Mark Shevlin from the University of Ulster who will be talking about Structural Equation Modelling, Prof Thom Baguley from Nottingham Trent University who will be discussing Multilevel modelling and Dr Andrew Rutherford from Keele University who will giving practical advice on how to deal with violations of assumptions in ANOVA. Furthermore Dr Gillian Smith from Nottingham Trent University will be discussing techniques for teaching statistics to undergraduates.
In addition, there will be a statistics “surgery” where attendees can bring their real statistical queries and our panel of experts will give practical advice on how to deal with these problems.
The workshop will provide the opportunity for postgraduates to meet others working in similar areas or using similar methods and to discuss their work in a supportive environment as well as the opportunity to meet experts in the area. Lunch will be provided and a cheese and wine session will close the day.
