The approach we've taken is to buy or borrow a 'representative' of each
class of phone and done our testing in-house. We currently have:
* HTC Hero (Android)
* iPod Touch
* Sony Ericsson W880i
* Nokia E61 / E71 (Symbian S60)
* Acer X960 (Windows Mobile)
* Nokia 1680 (Symbian S40)
* Palm Treo
Alternatively, http://mite.keynote.com/ provides "on-demand testing"
"with 1,600+ mobile device profiles over a live wireless network, mobile
carrier or Internet connection". Having not had any dealings with them I
can't say how good they are.
There's also the option of using emulators from SDKs, which should allow
you to test Android, S60 and iPhone.
All the best,
Alex
