I'm sure many members of this list will be aware of UKOLN's annnaal
Institutional Web management Workshop (IWMW). IWMW 2010 will be held at the
University of Sheffield on 12-14 July.
The call for submissions is open - see http://iwmw.ukoln.ac.uk/iwmw2010/call/
It would be good to see submissions related to use of mobile technologies,
so I'd encourage members of this list to submit their ideas.
But in addition I wonder something could be done based on use of mobile
technologies at the event itself? Could we:
o Provide access to details about the event (e.g. the timetable) available
via Bluetooth.
o Make use of geo-location technologies to help participants find the
venues, accommodation, pubs, etc.
o Make use of Augmented Reality applications for the above.
o Make use of QR codes.
Anyone interested in using the event as an opportunity for testing such ideas?
Any further suggestions on ways in which mobile technologies could enhance
events?
Any thoughts on possible risks - and ways of addressing such risks?
Thanks
Brian
