A very quick note on the progress of setting up the successor body to
the NCUACS.
The Centre for Scientific Archives @ the Science Museum was
incorporated at Companies House as a Company Limited by Guarantee on
30th November 2009. It has since applied to the Charity Commission for
charitable status. The company number is 7090482.
The Trustees of the Centre, who form the management board of the Company, are:
Anne Barrett - Archivist & Corporate Records Manager, Imperial College
London (Chair of the Trustees)
Rupert Williams - Head of Library and Archives, the Science Museum
René Kinzett - Head of Public Affairs, National Council on Archives
The Centre will continue the work of the National Cataloguing Unit for
the Archive of Contemporary Scientists, an unincorporated body which
was based at the University of Bath. The Centre will be based at the
Science Museum's facility at Wroughton, near Swindon in Wiltshire.
The Trustees met today at Wroughton to discuss the running of the
company, staffing and business planning.
Further updates to follow.
