Sorry I don't post often so read sporadically. While I agree pensions
should represent input, maybe some of you would also agree thatt though
I put the same proportion of my income into the scheme as any man. If i
die before my husband, he will only be elligible to a pension from the
NHS based on what I earned after 1988, where as any man who qualified
in1982 will leave his wife a pension based on their whole income since 1982.
I find this unacceptable particularly as the married man's tax allowance
was not available to me as a woman until it was changed to the married
persons tax allowance, for 2 years and then that was abolished, and as
self employed I was still not eligible for what replaced it. My husband
has been my dependant since we had children, while many wives of male
doctors will have worked through out.
I don't think that justice ever has anything to do with these bits of
legislation.
