Hi Michael,
How will this affect those of us with SGE installed already? If we don't
install the debian SGE package will this version of FSL work with already
configured SGE installs, or will some reconfiguration be necessary?
Thanks,
Matt.

Subject: [FSL] Debian package updated to 4.1.5
Dear list,
the Debian package has been updated to the new FSL release. In addition
to the changes introduced by the new release, the Debian package now
comes preconfigured for a Debian-based SGE installation (i.e. using the
Debian gridengine package). Excerpt from README.Debian:
FSL is configured to submit jobs to a running Sun Gridengine if
requested. Appropriate queues are chosen by SGE based on the
estimated processing time reported by FSL. By default no jobs are
submitted and all processing is done locally, even if a Gridengine is
running. Any FSL cluster computing is enabled by setting the
environment variable FSLPARALLEL=1. This can be done on a case-by-case
basis, or system-wide in /etc/fsl/fsl.h. Please see this file for more
configuration options, including the cluster email setup. If FSL is
used in conjunction with a Sun Gridengine installed by the
corresponding Debian package, no further configuration should be
necessary.
Please note that the cluster configuration is relatively fresh. Although
we are using this exact package productively on our own cluster, there
might still be some rough edges. If you notice something, please report
a bug against the package.
FSL-FEEDS compliance and successful SGE-based processing have been
tested on Debian lenny.
Enjoy,
Michael
