The Paul Scherrer Institute is with 1300 employees the largest research
centre for the natural and engineering sciences in Switzerland and a
worldwide leading user laboratory. Its research activities are
concentrated on the three main topics of solid-state physics, energy and
environmental research as well as human health.
Three dimensional coherent diffractive imaging (CDI) with X-rays
combines high resolving power with the ability to penetrate thick
samples. The coherent X-ray scattering group runs the highly brilliant
cSAXS facility at the Swiss Light Source, which offers excellent
opportunities for state-of-the-art high-resolution imaging campaigns. In
close collaboration with the Institute for Biomechanics at the Swiss
Federal Institut of Technology, Zurich, as well as with other members of
the international research community, we aim to study inter alia
structure and function of healthy and pathological bone.
For this project we are looking for a
Postdoctoral Fellow Coherent diffractive imaging
Your tasks
* Deepen your expertise in coherent diffractive imaging and
tomography techniques
* Help to further the development of 3D CDI on extended samples
* Collaborate on scientifically relevant problems with biologists
and physicians who will add expertise and make samples available
* Throughout the duration of the project, research results shall
be presented on international conferences and published in
peer-reviewed scientific journals
Your profile
Master or diploma in physics, biology, or another field related to 3D
medical imaging. You have substantial experience in coherent diffractive
imaging, tomography, or high-resolution medical imaging using X-rays and
are knowledgeable in the necessary analysis methods. You enjoy working
in a multidisciplinary group with numerous international collaborations.
Good communication skills in English are a must.
