Hi all,

I agree this is a good idea - I think Communication Matters is an appropriate organisation to compile/keep such a resource on its website. If anyone (Matthew?) is willing to send a plan in to Patrick at CM ([log in to unmask]) that would be great. Plans would be annonymised and provided as a resource of successful template plans for the AAC community.

This idea will also be pursued as part of the current work CM is conducting around AAC Assessment Services (at the Assessment Services Forum in February).

Hope this is OK?

Cheers

Simon

I think that is a really good idea Keren, as it would be useful to link to from the JISC TechDis pages on AAC and AT at http://techdis.palepurple.co.uk/sites/techdis

Best wishes E.A.

Is it worth finding out if anyone else has prepared business cases for their AAC commissioners and keeping on the wiki? Sounds like a useful resource.

I'd love to see it too, please: we don't have a communication aid service here.

Hi Akplan,

We were fortunate that our Commissioner asked us to write a Business Case to fund an Communication and Assistive Technology Service in East Kent. With funding for Staff and for Equipment.

I can send you a copy if you so wish.

It may not answer your specific question, but may help.

regards,

Matthew Pepper

Dear All

I am currently helping a Speech Therapist to put a case to the commissioner to fund communication aids for adults in our district who require this type of equipment. However, before we go banging our commissioner's door, I wanted to check how other SLT departments and professional colleagues provide this type of equipment to adults in their area.

Kind regards

Subject: product info re: orientation aid

Hi All

For those who remember the Forget-Me-Not clock from the ASTRID project, I have found this interesting digital alternative,

http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/9481354/Philips-AJL308-7-
Digital-Photoframe-With-Alarm-Clock-Radio/Product.html?ptsl=1&ob=Price&f

It's available at less than half this price from CPC (no detailed product info on site though)

Cheers
