Position: Technician for Analytical Chemistry Full time, Fixed term
contract ( 3 years initially)

Salary S6: £26,318 - £30,165 per annum inc. London Weighting
The Institute for the Environment is looking to recruit a full-time
Technician to support its Analytical Chemistry facilities.
You will be a member of a small team, where excellent oral and written
communication skills are essential.
You will be required to undertake analysis of samples, train staff and
research students in the use of analytical equipment and analytical
techniques. You must be willing to adopt a hands-on approach in order to
maintain equipment and facilities to a high standard. In addition you should
have proven experience in the use of one or more of the following
techniques:
€ GC/MS and LC/MS/MS
€ Wet and classical analytical chemistry including solid phase extraction
and microwave digestion
€ Atomic spectroscopy
€ Chromatography and Spectroscopy such as IC, HPLC, GC, UV, IR
It will also be expected that you will support other laboratory work within
the Institute as and when required.
