Junior Statistician
Full time, fixed term for 12 months in the first instance
Applications are invited for the post of Junior Statistician within the Primary Care Clinical Research and Trials Unit (PC-CRTU) at the University of Birmingham. The post holder will contribute to the trial design and analysis activities of the statistical team in support of the clinical research activities of the PC-CRTU. He/she will also be expected in time to assist in the development of new research ideas and statistical methodology applicable to health services research problems. He/she will also provide advice (initially under supervision) on research methodology and basic statistics to non-statistical colleagues and undertake a limited amount of teaching.
This post is open to candidates with a postgraduate degree in statistics or equivalent experience in statistics. Proven experience in trial design and statistical analysis and of statistical packages (eg SAS, STATA, SPSS) is required. Candidates must be able to demonstrate good communication and writing skills.

Starting salary in the range of £24,273 to £26,523 a year (potential progression on performance once in post to £29,853 a year)
