The London Taught Course Centre (LTCC) is run by a consortium of universities in the London region and beyond. It offers a programme of one day a week advanced courses in mathematics and statistics for PhD research students in the region, as well as short intensive courses open to students from elsewhere in the UK and Europe.
The "Statistics in Practice" module consists of lecturers by senior speakers from a variety of application and employment areas.
The first two speakers are

Prof Alastair Young (Imperial College London): "Academic Statistics"
This session will take place 5-8pm, in the Institute for Mathematical Sciences at Imperial College (address and map at http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/mathsinstitute/contacts).
