New Scientist (19/26 Dec) contains an item that people who link numbers
and letters with colours can be very speedy at spotting "hidden"
patterns. Their example shows a shape made with 2s among a field of 5s.
Have any allstatters come across anyone able to do this? It would be
very handy to be able to spot clusters of points labelled with digits on
a scatterplot! I was just using a stem-and-leaf and thought of it as a
way to spot excesses of 7s etc.
