Statistician
Applications are invited for a statistician at The Wolfson Institute of
Preventive Medicine, Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry,
Queen Mary University of London, to provide statistical support and analysis
to a team of epidemiologists who are working on longitudinal studies of
extremely preterm children, and to advise and support researchers in the
field of neurogastroenterology.
This challenging position is a unique opportunity for a statistician to work
on a wide range of medical research projects within a large and supportive
community of statisticians in the Wolfson Institute.
This role would suit a dynamic and able candidate who is starting a career
in Medical Statistics as well as more experienced self motivated medical
statisticians. Support and training will be provided as necessary.
Applicants should have an MSc or PhD in Medical Statistics and a good
understanding of the statistical methods for analysing observational data
and experience in using the statistical software STATA or SPSS.
The post is full time and is fixed term for 16 months, starting in March
2010. Starting salary will be in the range £30,229 - £39,627 per annum
inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, final
salary pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK
in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where
required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under
the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
